Who are we?
We are a small, highly focused sustainable development consultancy. Founded in 1996, we specialize in business solutions to the challenge of sustainable development.
We are a for-profit company that strives to deliver the goal of financial viability alongside the wider goals of economic, social and environmental accountability.
We do not offer consultancy in public relations, although we recognize the vital importance of good stakeholder communications in delivering effective sustainable development strategies.

We work with a wide range of organizations, at local, national and international levels including companies, government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
What are our core area of expertise ?
We work with our clients at all stages from an initial assessment of a problem or opportunity through to a review of the outcomes. At whatever stage of the journey we become involved – assessing expectations, prioritizing the agenda, analyzing options, developing policy, planning strategy, developing resources, managing and reviewing the quality and delivery of outcomes – our focus is helping our clients to fulfil the proposition of responsible, accountable business.
At the heart of our approach is stakeholder consultation and partnership. We recognize that sustainable development simply cannot be delivered in isolation of the wider community. Business is part of the problem and can only ever be part of the solution. Efforts to bring about sustainable development must be collaborative, based on mutual understanding and acknowledgment of relative roles and responsibilities.

Niall Marriott
Founder of Niall Marriott Associates in 1996, Niall Marriott is a leading practitioner in corporate responsibility and a specialist in cross-sector partnership.

In 1987, Niall co-founded the Living Earth Foundation, an international charity specializing in environmental education and community development. During this time he developed extensive experience of putting sustainable development into practice through collaborative efforts between business, government and civil society sectors.
Niall began his career in environmental education working for a variety of conservation organizations including The National Museums of Kenya, London Zoo, the Sussex Trust for Nature Conservation and the Midlands-based Urban Wildlife Group.

In 2005, Niall formed a consortium with associates Dr. Tim Reed and Dorothy Harris, to launch The Sustainability Review, an advisory service helping companies manage risk and relationships in a shrinking world.
Niall has an MA in Visual Communication from Birmingham (1983) and a BSc Special Honours degree in Zoology from Sheffield (1979). In 2004, he was accredited as a partnership broker by the Partnership Brokers Accreditation Scheme, a joint initiative of the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum and the University of Cambridge Programme for Industry.
